A POPULAR moggy is set for superstardom after a national magazine decided to feature him in its next edition.
Brutus the tabby tom cat has become a local celebrity with shoppers at Morrisons supermarket in Saltney and has almost 1,000 fans on social networking site Facebook.
The popular puss can be found relaxing in the shop’s foyer almost every day and is mentioned on Wikipedia under a list of famous cats. He has even had a mention on Zoe Ball’s show on Radio 2.
Now Brutus – who lives across the road from the store – is to appear in the March issue of Your Cat magazine, which will be on the shelves from Wednesday.
A spokeswoman for Morrisons said: “It is lovely to hear that both customers and colleagues are so fond of him.
“With a mention on the radio and Wikipedia and his own Facebook page, it would seem he is well on his way to global stardom!”
Last month rumours the feline had been ‘banned’ from the store caused outrage among his devoted fans. But bosses confirmed this was not the case and said the much loved moggy was welcome to stay – as long as he stays in the foyer.
Brutus’s proud owner said: “I’m really chuffed Brutus is going to be in the magazine, I find it slightly surreal he’s become such a local celebrity.”
