CHESTER Lions Club will help open a new centre for the blind and partially sighted in the city.
The club’s 11 Gold Bond runners in the London Marathon 2011 raised £15,283 for a new Vision Support centre which will enable people with sight loss to achieve greater independence and improve their quality of life.
Services at the new centre will include: equipment designed to help with daily living tasks; access to computers with speech and magnification software; an advice service and drop-in centre; a base for interest groups and a Braille teaching service.
To submit ideas for the new centre please email info@visionsupport.org.uk or call 01244 381515.
