CMUVS staff in Chester tackle 500 miles for Sport Relief

SPORTY staff in fancy dress took over Chester Business Park in the name of charity.

Forty-six workers from GMUVS walked, ran and cycled a total of 500 miles to raise £1,800 for Sport Relief.

Fundraisers were asked to come to work wearing the charity’s merchandise before taking to the roads surrounding their office in Deva House from 9am to 2pm.

Staff who were unable to make Friday’s main event held separate activities throughout the week, including sponsored squash.

Andrew Dunn, who helped organise the day, said: “It was fantastic. The majority of people really got into the spirit of things. We were charging £4 if you didn’t get yourself some sort of Sport Relief outfit.”

Participants’ hard work was rewarded with trophies and a celebratory barbecue.

Sport Relief uses its funds to support vulnerable older and young people, boost community causes and help refugee and asylum-seeking women and victims of domestic and sexual abuse.
