Family fun day to take place at Northop College

NORTHOP College has announced plans to host another family fun day.

The free event, on Sunday, May 20, is promising to offer even more activities and fun for all of the family.

From 10am-2pm the Northop College site will play host to a pirates and princesses-themed teddy bears picnic, bouncy castles, model railway rides and face painting for the little ones.

Cookery demonstrations, digger challenges and tours of the college’s rare breeds centre and newly opened small animal centre featuring marmoset monkeys and red-footed tortoises are just some of the attractions available for the rest of the family.

Visitors will also be able to purchase plants from the award-winning Northop Nurseries and meet some of the staff and students from the other Deeside College Group of Colleges sites. Highlights will include Coleg Llysfasi sheep shearing and Deeside College showing construction skills and demonstrating elements of life in the public services.

The event will coincide with the end of the celebrations for Adult Learners Week 2012. Information and guidance will be available from the Deeside College Group of Colleges Adult and Community Learning Team about part-time, evening and professional short course options, as well as full-time options.

All proceeds from individual activities will go towards the college’s adopted charity of the year, Cancer Research UK.
