Holywell High School pupil Ben Griffiths has a UNIQ opportunity

A STAR student has won a place on a course offered by Oxford University to aspiring A-level pupils.

Holywell High School pupil Ben Griffiths has been awarded a coveted place at the UNIQ Summer School.

Ben, was one of thousands who applied for the week-long course which gives a taste of student life and education workshops.

He is planning to apply to study chemistry at Oxford next year.

The university took into account GCSE achievement, enthusiasm for learning and participation in extra-curricular activities before offering Ben a spot on the course.

Ben said: “I was really surprised to be offered the place, I’m really excited about studying chemistry with some of the best tutors in the country. I was always planning on applying to Oxford but this has given me the belief that I have a much better chance of succeeding.”
