A DISPUTE at a Cilcain primary school which prompted industrial action has been resolved.
Teaching union NASUWT held a strike at Ysgol y Foel last month after a decision to make a teacher redundant.
But today (Friday) a joint statement issued by Flintshire County Council, the governing body of the school and the union announced the dispute was resolved.
The statement said: “As an alternative to redundancy, it has been agreed that the teacher selected will move from a full-time to a part-time, mornings-only contract.
“This compromise alleviates the redundancy situation and avoids the need for the cross phasing arrangements.
“Consequently, the redundancy notice has been withdrawn.”
