Flintshire apprentices awarded for hard work

FLINTSHIRE County Council workers have celebrated completing apprenticeships.

Faye Briggs was named Flintshire County Council Apprentice of the Year at the ceremony at Clwyd Theatr Cymru.

The council recruits apprentices across all departments and most attend training at Deeside College.

Colin Everett, chief executive of Flintshire County Council, said: “I would like to congratulate all those who successfully completed their courses.

“Our modern apprenticeship programme is an excellent way for us to develop employees with the skills and experience needed.

“Modern apprentices gain industry-recognised qualifications whilst receiving on the job training and hands on experience.”

Deeside College principal David Jones said: “We are delighted to be working in partnership with Flintshire County Council to provide both the apprenticeship scheme and the continued professional development programmes.

“The awards ceremony is a great way to celebrate the success of those who have worked hard to achieve their qualifications this year.”
