Hometown reception for London 2012 Paralympics star Bev Jones in Shotton

PARALYMPIC star Bev Jones was the guest of honour at a civic reception in her hometown.

The discus thrower, who lives in Shotton, won bronze at London 2012 earlier this month – her first medal in her fourth Paralympics.

And to honour her achievement, Shotton Town Council and Flintshire County Council held the welcome home bash at the Corus Club on Rowleys Drive yesterday afternoon (Wednesday).

Town Council chairman Gary Cooper said: “I am delighted to hold this civic reception for Beverley. We are so proud of her achievement.”
