Police renew appeal for information after double fatal crash in Pontblyddyn

POLICE have renewed their appeal for information after a pregnant woman and her unborn baby died following a crash at Pontblyddyn.

Christina Barchetti, 35, and her unborn daughter Bella Clarke were killed in a two-car collision shortly after 7pm on Monday, October 22.

The smash happened on the A541 Wrexham to Mold Road close to the end of the dual carriageway adjacent to the Plas Teg Estate.

Miss Barchetti, of Beechley Road, Wrexham, was driving a Ford Ka in the direction of Wrexham when it was in collision with a BMW Series 3 travelling toward Mold.

She died a short time later at the Wrexham Maelor Hospital.

An inquest into her death has been opened and adjourned.

The driver of the BMW who was arrested at the scene on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving has been released on bail.

Police are appealing for witnesses to the crash to come forward.
