Deeside politicians choose winning Christmas card design
TWO politicians have announced the winner of their annual Christmas card competition.
MP Mark Tami and Welsh AM Carl Sargeant were at Toyota on Deeside Industrial Park on Friday morning to meet Chloe Roberts, whose design was chosen out of more than 1,000 entries from 17 primary schools.
Chloe, who goes to Golftyn Primary, created a festive scene with a Christmas tree by a roaring fireplace.
Her picture will be used for the politicians’ annual cards and Chloe and her family will also be invited to visit Parliament.
Mr Tami said: “This year the competition was stronger than ever and I was really impressed with the standard of the designs. The winning one is filled with colour and I am delighted with the result.”
Mr Sargeant said: “It was a great morning and at the end the children all signed a card that will be sent to the First Minister, Carwyn Jones.”
He added: “The competition could only be held because of the generous sponsorship from great local companies including UPM Shotton Paper, Vion Food, E.ON and Toyota.”
