Freemasons host teddy bears picnic at Countess of Chester Hospital

IF YOU’D gone down to the Countess of Chester Hospital recently, you’d have been sure of a big surprise.

Freemasons, hospital management and children were at the city hospital to enjoy a teddy bears’ picnic.

The event was a celebration of the Freemasons’ TLC teddy bear appeal. To date, 21,024 of the 6” brightly coloured teddies have been donated to children in severe distress.

Richard Saunders, TLC appeal officer for Chester Freemasons, organised the picnic and his wife Pauline and friend Angela Jones baked a special TLC Cake. .

A&E lead nurse Jo Winsor said: “We don’t know what we would do if we didn’t have the TLC bears. We are grateful to the Masons for their generosity.”
