PLANNING chiefs have granted permission for a convenience store to be built in Mold – despite opposition from local residents.
The application for a Spar store on Wrexham Road was approved by planners, on condition opening hours were restricted.
Applicant OM Projects Ltd wanted to serve from 6am-11pm Monday-Saturday and 7am-10pm on Sundays and bank holidays.
But members of the county council’s planning committee agreed only to hours of 7am-9pm Monday-Saturday and 7am-4pm on Sundays and Bank Holidays.
Residents argued the site was not needed.
Today the council’s licensing sub-committee will discuss whether to grant a licence for the sale of alcohol from 6am-11pm.
