Holywell to hold its first walking festival

THE first Holywell and District Walking Festival will take place in June to celebrate the heritage of the town and landscape of the surrounding areas.

A three-day programme of walks will take place from June 14-16 to provide people with the opportunity to explore, learn more and enjoy the unique surroundings that Holywell and district has to offer.

The event was launched by the Holywell Walkers are Welcome Committee, which is made up of volunteers and partner agencies including Holywell Town Council, Flintshire County Council and Troedio Clwyd.

There will be walks for all abilities ranging from short walks taking less than an hour to a challenging 13-mile ramble from Cilcain to Holywell.

There will also be opportunities for people to try Nordic walking.

A leaflet containing more details about the festival will be available at the end of the month and information will be posted on the Holywell Town Council website.
