Red Arrows cleared to fly over Deva Stadium before Chester FC match

THE famous Red Arrows will be flying over Chester’s Deva Stadium this Saturday (August 7), after the aerobatic team was cleared to fly.

The Ministry of Defence had suspended the Hawk T Mk 1 flights across the country when a problem with the aircraft’s ejector seats was found.

The problem, found on one of the aircraft in Anglesey’s RAF Valley at the end of June, meant all the planes were grounded while safety inspections were carried out.

It meant events including Saturday’s flypast over the home of Chester FC, scheduled for 2.18pm, were put in jeopardy.

But the flights have been cleared for take-off and the Red Arrows will be flying over the stadium before the club’s pre-season friendly match with Marine FC.

An MoD spokesperson confirmed: “The Red Arrows have been cleared to fly following safety checks on their ejection seats.”
