David and Victoria Beckham have confirmed they are expecting a baby girl for their fourth child.
Victoria, 36, is due to give birth to her first daughter in the summer, adding to her brood of three boys, Brooklyn, 11, Romeo, eight, and Cruz, five.
The celebrity couple, who married in 1999, announced that Spice Girl-turned-fashion designer Victoria was pregnant in January, but the sex had up until now remained unknown.
However, the news was confirmed by their spokesman on Sunday after David suggested the couple were expecting their first girl on Friday.
The 35-year-old footballer, who captained England from 2000 to 2006, was preparing for LA Galaxy's first game of the US Major League Soccer season when he made the comments.
On Sunday, Victoria was photographed jetting home to Los Angeles following a short trip to London.
The Beckhams will attend the royal wedding next month before heading back to their American base for their daughter's birth.
Last week, Beckham spoke of his excitement as he prepares to become a father for the fourth time. The footballer said his pregnant wife was in excellent health and "feeling good".
Asked about Victoria as he met sick youngsters at the Children's Hospital Los Angeles, he said: "She's great, she's very healthy. She's feeling good. We're very excited. It's an exciting time for the family."
Beckham's LA Galaxy face Seattle Sounders FC on Tuesday. He spent the close-season in the UK training with Tottenham Hotspur at their Essex training ground.
