Lifeboats sent as Tornados crash

Two RAF Tornado jets have crashed off the coast of Scotland.

The coastguard said lifeboats from Wick, Invergordon and Buckie had been sent to the area in the Moray Firth, supported by a helicopter from Stornoway.

A Ministry of Defence spokeswoman said: "We are aware of an incident in the Moray Firth area involving two Tornado GR4s from RAF Lossiemouth."

The RNLI later confirmed two people had been picked up by helicopter.
