A YOUNG Wrexham side fought out a 3-2 victory at the Airfield last night in a friendly against Welsh Premier League outfit Airbus UK Broughton.
The Dragons eased to a 2-0 lead at the interval with both goals coming from striker Matty Wolfenden, before the Welsh Premier League side levelled soon after the break with two goals in quick succession, both from goal mouth scrambles.
However, trialist James Owen, released last week from Chester City, fired home a late winner for Wrexham, getting on the end of a corner from fellow trialist Luke Holden.
Marc Williams, returning from injury, was given a useful run out, coming off the bench in the first half to replace young striker Obi Anoruo.
Meanwhile, Wrexham’s Youth team were 9-0 winners over Prestatyn Town at Colliers Park in the FAW Youth Cup.
