Gap Connah’s Quay 1 Aberystwyth Town 2

NOMADS saw their three-match Corbett Sports Welsh Premier League winning run come to an end.

The hosts paid the price for a poor first-half performance in which previously winless Aberystwyth scored twice in the opening 15 minutes.

Mark McGregor’s men improved after the restart but time after time they were frustrated by the resolute visitors.

Jamie Petrie, with his third goal in two games, did reduce the deficit for Nomads in injury-time when he volleyed in from 15 yards.

But by then they had already lost captain Craig Jones to a red card awarded for an off-the-ball incident.
