AFTER taking last year off, Pontblyddyn Cricket Club’s Lads v Dads v Lasses event returns on Sunday from 12.30pm.
The picturesque Alder Meadow Ground on Wrexham Road will play host as youngsters and dads or mums play on opposing teams batting and bowling against each other.
It was an idea first attempted at the club six years ago and is used as a funday to say thank you to everyone who has taken part in the club’s season at any level.
There will be other events on the day including the River Lottery, throwing the stump javelin, family relay race and more. There will also be a barbecue.
Northop CC have been going the extra mile to raise funds for the club this season.
A fun day at the club raised more than £200 with James Roberts’ penalty shootout, Ann Roberts’ balloon pop stall, Corey Hunts’ teddy bear stall and Mary Ashley’s bric-a-brac stall all drawing in generous donations.
And all season Mary Ashley has been selling burgers at junior training on Friday nights to boost the club coffers.
Volunteers for bag packing at supermarkets have also raised more than £400 for the club in 2010.
