HAWARDEN Park are on the brink of an immediate return to the top flight of the North Wales League after defeating Conwy by five wickets.
If results go their way this weekend Park are potentially one win away from promotion after their commanding victory.
A fine opening 40 was as good as it got for Conwy at the Castle Ground as Park’s bowling attack took the advantage.
Campbell Marr claimed 5-27 and Jason Biddulph 4-26 as Conwy were reduced to 108ao.
The home side’s response endured a lacklustre beginning, but Biddulph restored order with an unbeaten 60 to carry the team to 109-5, Marr getting 28.
At the opposite end of the table HALKYN are almost assured survival despite losing by two runs at home to Gresford.
Some fantastic bowling saw Halkyn dismiss Gresford for only 86.
Corey Walters took 4-26, Ben Roberts 3-25 and Matt Williams 2-13 as Gresford were sent in for an early tea reeling.
But they are not near the top of the table because they offer easy pickings and the Wrexham outfit regrouped.
They ripped into Halkyn, allowing Marcello Carrino only to score 14 as they bowled their hosts out for 84.
