Cymru Alliance: Shaun Beck and John Davies vow to stay at Flint Town United

FLINT Town United stars Shaun Beck and John Davies have given boss Paul Davies the perfect post-Christmas present.

Captain and goalscorer extraordinaire Beck and classy centre-back John Davies have, according to their manager, turned down “very lucrative offers” from higher-league Bala Town and Colwyn Bay respectively to stay with their hometown club.

Paul Davies, whose Silkmen are four points clear at the top of the Cymru Alliance, told the club’s new website www.flinttownunitedfc.moonfruit.com: “I don’t think these will be the last approaches we receive in the transfer window, but I am confident that the group of lads we have at the club at the moment are happy, and all desperate to achieve something for Flint Town this season.”

Flint, who have not played for five weeks, are scheduled to return to league action at second-from-bottom Holyhead Hotspur on Saturday (2.30pm).

The Silkmen’s NWCFA Challenge Cup preliminary-round clash at Llangefni Town on Saturday was their latest match to be postponed.

Sixth-placed Mold Alexandra host Bethesda on Saturday (2.30pm) but fourth-placed Buckley are without a game.
