A WHOLE host of Flintshire sides saw their weekend of football spoiled by the gods as the fixture list was again decimated by the cold weather.
In the Clywd League, all bar two sides had to surrender to the weather.
However, while their rivals stayed indoors, Mostyn Dragons took full advantage, securing a 6-1 win over Bro Cernyw.
GAP Connah’s Quay, Rhydymwyn, Flint Town United and Buckley Town all had their Cymru Alliance games postponed.
Nomads were supposed to host Rhyd in a Flintshire derby while the Silkmen of Flint were scheduled to receive a visit from Penrhyncoch.
The bitter conditions also spared Buckley Town the trip to Cefn Druids.
Mold Alex, Hawarden Rangers, Penyffordd, New Brighton, Saltney Town, Buckley United, Castell Alun Colts, Mold Juniors and Hawkesbury Villa suffered similar fates as the Welsh National League programme was a virtual whiteout.
Managers, players and supporters throughout the region will be hoping warmer temperatures over the next few days will be enough to thaw the ground and allow the weekend’s fixtures to go ahead as planned in order to avoid a huge backlog of games going into the new year.
