IN the weather-hit Welsh National League, Flintshire sides were involved in some high-scoring encounters.
In Division One Saltney Town narrowly beat visiting Glyn Ceiriog 5-4.
It was far from their best performance of the season but Town dug deep and finished on top.
Andy Johnson opened the scoring, finishing off a move begun by Shaun Hughes.
A screamer from well outside the box brought Ceiriog level but Matty Howard restored Town’s lead.
However within two minutes Ceiriog drew level.
On the stroke of half-time the visitors were awarded a penalty for handball which they converted.
Two minutes into the second half Saltney equalised, Shaun Hughes on target.
But poor defending saw Ceiriog take the lead again.
Paul Hughes restored parity for the second time for Saltney and Dave Powell snatched the points for the hosts with a late strike.
Castell Alun Colts were also involved in a high-scoring game, going down 6-2 to league leaders Rhos Aelwyd in the Reserves Division.
Airbus UK saw off Saltney Town 6-0 in the Reserves and Colts Division.
