THE promotion situation in the Welsh National League has been cleared up – but it has not benefited Saltney Town.
They currently sit on top of Division One having played all their games but their Premier Division dream can still be shattered after the league ruled on an abandoned game between Borras Park Albion and Argoed United.
Their game earlier in the season was abandoned after the Albion goalkeeper allegedly threatened the referee.
But instead of deducting points or imposing some other punishment, instead the game will simply be replayed tomorrow (6.30pm).
If Albion win, they will be promoted and if Argoed win they will go up as both sides can overhaul Saltney with a three-point haul.
A draw in the big showdown, however, will keep Saltney top.
HAWARDEN RANGERS lost the Premier Division League Cup final 2-0 to Gresford Athletic at Cefn Druids.
MOLD ALEX’S Premier Division title aspirations are slipping away despite a 3-0 win over Venture (Luke Reece 2, Colin Davies).
RHYDYMWYN can still win it after they defeated Llangollen Town 3-1 with goals from Dave Gleave, Darren Pritchard and Stuart Hayes.
