Clwyd Junior League – U16s & Youth Divisions Saturday round-up

THE honours were shared in Saturday’s big Youth Division derby as Flint Town United drew 2-2 at home to Buckley Town Youth.

Rob McKenzie and Danny Pugh netted for Flint, Asa Hamilton and Robert Stewart for Buckley.

Prestatyn Athletic’s advantage over second-placed Mostyn Dragons now stands at five points following their 4-0 home win over Rhos Aelwyd.

Steven Shute, Luke Elden, Tristan Owens and Adam Wright got their names on the scoresheet for the table toppers.

Buckley Town Juniors won 3-1 at home to Hawarden Rangers on Saturday to move level on points with leaders Mold Juniors at the top of the Under 16s Division.

Shaun Tinsley and Aled Reece (2) effectively killed the contest before the break, although Jack Gregory did pull a goal back for Hawarden after the restart.

Connah’s Quay Tigers hit double figures as they romped to a 10-2 home triumph over Holywell Town Juniors.

Jake Wynne, Jordan Pearson, Jordan Sullivan, Sean Williams, Steven Williams and Nicholas Nicolaides shared the Tigers strikes.

Ryan Petruzelli got both of the Wellmen’s efforts.

Wepre Scorpions booked their place in the fourth round of the NWCFA U16s Cup.

But they were made to work hard for their 3-2 victory at Towyn Rangers, given to them by Jack Bailey and Liam Hardwick (2).

Halkyn United are out, though, after they went down 3-2 after extra- time at Menai Bridge Tigers.

Josh Gannon and Ross Summer goals were not quite enough for Halkyn.
