CRUSADERS’ winning run came to an end on Sunday as they suffered a 46-12 defeat at Warrington Wolves.
The Wrexham-based outfit more than held their own for most of the first half as tries from forwards Mark Bryant and Lincoln Withers saw them level at 12-12 after 37 minutes.
However, two quick Warrington touchdowns before half-time knocked the wind out of the Crusaders’ sails and the big-spending hosts went on to score 34 unanswered points after the break to secure a victory that moved them up to second in the Super League standings.
Crusaders travel to face St Helens tomorrow (8pm).
