WHITFORD’S Georgina Clarke and her horse Broadstone Dancelot cantered off with the title at the National Veteran Horse Society Dressage finals.
Having qualified regionally for the Elementary section for horses aged 15 years and over, Georgina and Dancelot went to the Nationals and won on a score of 67%.
They also came third in the pre-vet category, scoring 63%.
The 15-year-old Abbey Gate College pupil trains with Paul Davies and fits her riding in around her school work.
And the reward for her hard work didn’t end there.
On the same weekend she also claimed the British Eventing schools series regional title.
Georgina had been 10 points ahead of the second-placed rider, but stretched her lead enough aboard Sir Sam to take the honours.
She will now go the national finals in May 2012 with Sir Sam.
Her eventing trainer Tuffy Tilley was thrilled as Georgina has only been competing with Sam this season and has done wonders to build up such a partnership with her mount.
Clarke currently stands fifth and sixth in the unofficial national under 21 standings.
She currently lies fifth with Dancelot and sixth with a third horse, Eventer, based on British Dressage points accrued in competition since April.
