Golf: Mold starlet David Ramsay receives Wales call-up

DAVID Ramsay has been selected for the Welsh under 16s squad to face Spain.

The 15-year-old Mold Golf Club member has been selected for the Wales squad for the seventh time and will play later today.

It is a busy time for the young international from Pantymwyn, as when he returns early next week from the team warm-up match he will be pitched straight into the Quadrangular under 16s tournament between Wales, Scotland, Ireland and England at Templepatrick in Northern Ireland from April 5-7.

And on April 13 Ramsay will compete for Wales against Yorkshire at Wrexham Golf Club.

Hawarden Ladies’ Three Clubs and a Putter match saw Division One won by Jane Howard after she clocked 35pts.

Clare Rimmer was second with 32pts and E Hollingworth scored 30 for third.

In Division Two Jean Hughes’ 32 was enough to defeat Irene Willis with 31.

The 18-hole Stableford Ladies Voucher Run at Old Padeswood saw Melanie Price triumph with 32pts, over Danielle Jones (31) and Anne Tapp (30).

The winner of the 10 holes contest was Chris Canham with 23, Pat Venn finishing close behind.
