Bowls: Rosset face Connah’s Quay in Eldridge Cup semi final

TWO of the Eldridge Cup’s most successful teams come together to do battle in the semi-finals at the Airbus Bowling Club green in Broughton tonight (Thursday).

The Chester and District Bowling League’s premier cup competition, the cup was donated to the league in 1935 by Chester city councillor Jim Eldridge.

And the first semi-final, which starts at 6.30pm, will pit 2001 champions Rossett Celts against 2009 champions Connah’s Quay.

At the same time the second semi, between Cuddington and Hoole Alex, will take place at Cherry Grove in Chester with Hoole bidding for a 10th cup victory.

Games will be played in accordance with the British Crown Green Bowling Association dress code.
