Police searching for Catherine Gowing find a burnt out Renault Clio

POLICE may have found the car of missing Flintshire vet Catherine Gowing.

Detective Superintendent John Hanson said this morning: “Following an appeal for information regarding the whereabouts of Catherine Gowing’s Renault Clio motor vehicle at about 7.15pm yesterday evening a member of the public contacted police regarding the discovery of a burnt out car in Pinfold Lane, Alltami, near Mold.

"Attending police officers have been able to confirm this is a five door Renault Clio but at this time we cannot be sure it is Catherine’s car.

“The area has been cordoned off and forensically secured and an examination of the vehicle and immediate area continues to establish the vehicle’s true identity and secure any evidence which may assist us find Catherine. Once this is confirmed a further statement will be released.

“The location of this vehicle’s discovery is approximately two miles from Catherine’s home in New Brighton. Catherine is still missing and her last known sighting is at 8.39pm on Friday October 12 when she was seen on CCTV leaving Asda Supermarket in Queensferry.”
