DESPITE the freezing weather a Flintshire farm shop has been doing a roaring trade.
Hawarden Estate Farm Shop’s Real Food Christmas Market has enjoyed bumper trading results over the start of the festive season.
Manager, Alan Downes, said: “We’re really pleased that we’ve had only mild weather, compared to some parts of the UK, but we know it’s still been very difficult for some of our customers to get out and about.
“Nonetheless, we’ve been really busy since opening our festive market, so much so that we’re restocking rapidly.”
The farm shop team have been busy forecasting what they expect to sell between now and Christmas, predicting record sales of home-made treats such as pigs in blankets and their real Christmas trees.
Alan estimates the shop will sell 5,760 pigs in blankets; 2,000 mince pies; 2,200 bottles of local beer and 1,200 real trees.
Serving hot chestnuts and warm spiced apple juice, the Real Food Christmas Market runs until December 23.
Alan is also running a Christmas competition.
