Deeside Industrial Park to host two-day Flintshire business exhibition

THE organisers of Flintshire Business Week (FBW) have announced details of a major event.

The FBW team will host what is expected to be one of the largest business-to-business events held in North Wales in recent years.

A two-day exhibition will take place on October 12-13 in association with ConvaTec UK at Deeside Industrial Park.

With the global economy still unsettled, organisers believe the need to improve trading opportunities remains critical to business success.

And a series of associated seminars are aiming to provide help with procurement and supply chain opportunities, while a ‘meet the neighbour’ networking opportunity will be arranged by the Strategic Business Parks Partnership for companies from the Deeside and Wrexham industrial estates.

The exhibition is expected to attract high-profile speakers from the political and business worlds.

Businesses who took part in a smaller event in 2010 influenced the decision to hold this year’s event, and collaboration has been taking place with the adjacent councils in Wales and England, facilitated by the Mersey Dee Alliance.

Cllr Matt Wright, the council’s executive member for regeneration and tourism, said: “Our aim is to raise the profile of the county as both ‘open for business’ and welcoming to investors.

“It is crucial that Flintshire has a strong and successful economy, and Flintshire Business Week plays a key role in helping speed the county on its way to growth, jobs and investment.

“It has become a major date in the local business calendar, and the FBW team works hard to make each year even better than the year before.

“I’m proud to announce that this year’s event will host such a major two-day business exhibition and I would encourage all local businesses to ensure that they come along and get involved.”

Exhibition space costs from £100 plus VAT per day and discounts are on offer for companies booking before June 15.
