Flintshire mum gets ready to launch website selling unique baby gifts

A FLINTSHIRE mum is getting ready to launch her second online business, which specialises in unique gifts for new babies.

Jane Renshaw, 41, of Ewloe already runs Banoffee Pie, which creates balloon decorations for weddings, birthdays, school proms, corporate and promotional events.

But now the former Hawarden High School pupil is branching out and is preparing to launch The Baby Pantry, which offers a range of nappy cakes containing top quality baby essentials that new mums will welcome.

The mum-of-two told the Chronicle that her first business venture was going so well she had to expand.

She said: “I was approached by another mum last year to set up Banoffee Pie but due to personal reasons she left the partnership a couple of months ago.

“I decided to run it on my own as there was a lot of demand. The baby gift side of the business really took off and it needed its own identity, so The Baby Pantry website will launch in the next couple of weeks – fingers crossed.”

The tiered creations – designed to look like cakes – are made from disposable nappies, fleece blankets, socks, clothing, stuffed toys and other items newborns need.

“They are all the rage in the USA,” said Jane. “They make wonderful gifts and are a little bit different. I’ve already had a lot of interest.”

Jane also makes smaller ‘cupcakes’ which are made from baby socks.

“I certainly am being kept busy,” said Jane who also finds time to act as director for husband Chris’s business Chris Renshaw Consulting Ltd.

“It can be hard work but I’m getting very positive feedback about The Baby Pantry which keeps me going and is good motivation.”

The website www.thebabypantry.co.uk is due to go live in the next two weeks.
