AEROSPACE leader Hawker Beechcraft teamed up with another famous British brand for a unique challenge.
Hawarden-based Hawker is working with Lotus as part of a collaborative research and development project.
And on Thursday the company’s Flintshire HQ staged a race between a Hawker 900XP jet and a Lotus 125 driven by Leo Mansell, the son of former F1 world champion Nigel Mansell – and the Hawker came out on top.
Sean McGeough, Hawker Beechcraft Corporation’s president for Europe, the Middle East and Africa, said: “Lotus is a perfect partner for Hawker Beechcraft as we both share a long-standing tradition of providing products with ground-breaking design, technical innovation and exceptional quality and performance.
“This strategic alliance represents an exciting and progressive step forward in both the aviation and motoring markets, allowing our engineers to share knowledge and expertise that will benefit both parties.”
