GCSE results: Holywell High School

HOLYWELL High School’s class of 2010 have produced some fantastic results at GCSE this year.

The overall Level 2 Threshold (students achieving five or more GCSEs or their equivalent at A*–C) reached 50% for those in Year 11. This is the best ever for Holywell High School.

The class of 2010 broke all other records even surpassing the achievements of last year. The results in all performance indicators were the best ever at Holywell.

Pupils Rebecca Hall and Tom Seel achieved all A*–A grades.

The following students also achieved outstanding results, with six or more A* or A in their GCSE passes: Katy Dytor, Liam Green, Jack Griffiths, Jack Mackie, Bethan Price, Alice Pepper and Jamie Williams.

Headteacher John Putt said: “These results are brilliant. They are witness to the hard work and determination of our students who have been incredibly well supported by their teachers and their families.

“I would like to congratulate all our students and thank all staff and parents and carers for their wonderful support. This year group has had a really positive focus on their learning and achievement throughout the two years of the GCSE course.

“ I am delighted for all of them but also for our school community and the wider community of Holywell.”

The enrolment process for the sixth form continues tomorrow (Wednesday) morning and all students are encouraged to come into school to receive further help or advice. Holywell re-opens for students on Thursday, September 2.
