Pub up for two honours

A FLINTSHIRE licensee hopes to make it a double in a top pub competition.
Delwyn Lewis, mine host at the Red Lion Inn, Buckley, has been shortlisted in the Marston’s Pub of the Year awards – both in the best newcomer and pub food sections.
He’s toasting his success as 2,000 other hostelries were vying for a place in the finals.
Delwyn said: “We are proud of what we have achieved over the last year and feel honoured to be recognised by Marston’s.”
The winners will be announced at an awards ceremony in Birmingham on November 13.
The evening will be hosted by BBC Radio One’s Mark Chapman and Yorkshire and England swing bowler Matthew Hoggard.
