Pupils of Ysgol Bryn Coch, Mold, are high achievers in range of activities

YOUNG achievers have hit success in a range of activities at their school.

Singers at Mold’s Ysgol Bryn Coch hit the right notes in a group recitation to win a musical competition. The group will now represent Flintshire at the National Eisteddfod.

Piano player Jamie Hogg came first for his category in the school contest, while Annie Beggan and Rachael Swash claimed second for their duet.

Jamie added to the school’s success when he and fellow pupil Lewis Wynne scored highly in the Primary Maths Challenge. More than 90,000 pupils took part in the UK and the duo reached the national finals, where they worked on an advanced paper.

They received certificates from the Maths Association in recognition of their hard efforts.

Youngster Catriona Duffield showcased her artistic skills to win an arts and crafts contest at the school.
