FOOTBALL fans in Deeside are in for a treat this weekend after Gap Connah’s Quay FC decided to offer free admission to a crunch cup tie.
The Cymru Alliance league leaders take on AFC Porth in the third round of the Welsh Cup on Saturday.
Gap personnel founder and managing director Gary Dewhurst is hoping the special offer will result in a bumper crowd at the Deeside Stadium on Kelsterton Road, Connah’s Quay.
He said: “We always offer free admission for children but have decided to widen that to all fans for this match.
“It’s our way of giving something back to those loyal supporters who turn up every week, as well as hopefully attracting some new faces.
“It should be a fantastic atmosphere and if we progress to the next round we will consider extending the offer to further cup games.
“It’s nice to be able to give something back our supporters in these difficult economic times.”
Gap Connah’s Quay FC sit top of the Cymru Alliance, and are vying to rejoin the Welsh Premier League.
The winner of Saturday’s cup tie, which kicks off at 2pm, will progress to the last 16 of the Welsh Cup – the winners of which will go into next season’s Europa League.
Fans are urged to arrive at the Deeside Stadium in good time for the 2pm kick off in order to avoid disappointment.
