TWO Buckley businesswomen have won an award for their new store – just two months after it opened its doors.
Patricia Gillard and Theresa Gooding set up Trade Store Direct in the Pinfold Lane Industrial Estate.
Although they have only been trading since the beginning of September, their enterprising efforts recently saw them win the Network She award for best new business.
The store specialises in selling tools and accessories for tradesmen, such as safety gear and workwear.
Theresa said: “We were absolutely delighted and shocked.”
She explained: “We are a one-stop shop for tradesmen, and have recently combined with retail for Rhino products, who do roof rack accessories for vans.
“Patricia and I were working in a company called Poplars Workwear and we were approached to move services and start a new company venture to be the retailer for rhino products.
“It has been very busy so far. We have a large retail trade set up on the industrial estate and we have launched our website which has kept us in action.”
And the duo are optimistic Trade Store Direct will prosper.
Theresa added: “This is the first of hopefully at least five stores across the UK – that’s our ambition
“We are looking to expand into selling tools as well. We are always looking into something new and we even do embroidery for company logos on their workwear.”
