Buckley school pupil wins prize at Deeside College open evening

A BUCKLEY school pupil came away from a Deeside College open evening with a new iPod Touch.

Sarah Mulhearn, from Mold, who goes to Elfed High School, visited the college’s open evening and, after having met a number of tutors, decided to apply for the health and social care course.

To celebrate the launch of the college’s Smartphone app, she was selected from the hundreds of entrants who provided event feedback or returned a mailing insert to either the Deeside College or Coleg Llysfasi open evenings.

Sarah, who aims to become a naval nurse, said: “I’m delighted, I’ve never won anything before so I was really shocked when the college called me.

“I really enjoyed the open evening at Deeside College and would recommend it to anyone wanting to find out about what’s on offer there. The staff were really friendly and there was loads of information available.”

The college’s next open evening is on Wednesday, February 9, from 5-8pm.

The Deeside College app can be downloaded from iTunes. For more details, visit www.deeside.ac.uk.
