Northop College students show off floristry skills at Holywell nursing home

RESIDENTS at a Holywell nursing home enjoyed a visit from Northop College students.

First-year floristry students visited Coed Duon to demonstrate how to create floral displays in time for Christmas.

Tutor Jo Richards said: “Some of the students felt a little nervous about demonstrating their skills as it was the first time they had stood up in front of a group of strangers.

“However, the students were very professional and the residents were most grateful for all the planning, preparation and effort the students had made to ensure the event was a positive success.”

Sue Knight, manager of the home, said: “We are amazed by the standard of the floral arrangements that the students produced in such a short time and after only two months training and experience at Northop College.

“We learnt some great tips and the residents have loved having them here.”
