Woman injured in crash on A55 at Northop

A WOMAN suffered neck, back and knee injuries and a one-year-old escaped injury after a collision on the A55 at Northop.

The 22-year-old victim was hurt when the blue Peugeot 106 XL Zest crashed on the westbound carriageway near junction 33 at 11.40am on Wednesday (December 29).

Two ambulances attended.

A spokesman for the Welsh Ambulance Service said: “A 22-year-old female with neck and back injuries was placed on a (spinal) board as a precaution and taken to Ysbyty Glan Clwyd.

“She also suffered a knee injury. A one-year old-child with no injuries was taken to hospital as well.”

A North Wales Police spokesman said: “A woman had minor injuries. One vehicle was left across the outside lane and there was damage to the central reservation.”

One witness said: “The car looked fairly banged up. Traffic in the inside lane was stationary for a while but they must have cleared the road and it was moving again.”
