Buckley boys audition for Hollywood blockbuster Clash of the Titans 2

A BUCKLEY theatre school could be harbouring a star in the making.

Big Stage Theatre School, run by Rebecca Stanton, was contacted by a national casting agent looking for boys to audition for a Hollywood blockbuster.

Rebecca said 15 boys aged nine and 10 auditioned to play Helius, the son of the god Zeus, who is played by Liam Neeson in Clash of the Titans 2.

“A casting agent contacted me saying she was looking for a ‘special boy’ to play the role of Zeus’s son in the sequel to Clash of the Titans,” said Rebecca.

“She said she had already auditioned a lot of boys from the south of England but was not having much luck, so she scoured the internet for drama schools around the rest of the country and found mine.”

She added: “The boys did the audition at a school in Runcorn where they had to do some improvisation work, some group work and film some scenes from the script.

“They were all a bit nervous but it was an amazing opportunity for them and they were great.”

Some of the boys have now been chosen to go through to the next round of auditions in London.

Rebecca added: “They are still considering, but they said they were really impressed with what they saw. We could have a new star in Flintshire – so watch this space!”

Big Stage Theatre School and Blue Stage Theatre School hold classes in Hawarden and Buckley. Call Rebecca on 07841 845132.
