A TEACHER has denied a charge of rape and an alternative charge of sexual activity with a child.
John Grindell, 47, is charged with the rape of a teenage girl aged 14 in August of last year.
Grindell appeared in the dock at Mold Crown Court on Friday and pleaded not guilty to both charges.
Judge Niclas Parry bailed him until his trial in September.
At an earlier hearing Grindell was described as a respected musician, broadcaster and teacher.
Grindell, of Pettit Close in Cefnybedd, is currently suspended from his music teaching post at Penley near Wrexham.
The married father of two was bailed. The judge ordered that he should not contact prosecution witnesses.
