Deeside woman crashed her car outside Shotton pub after drink-driving

A WOMAN who crashed her car into railings outside a Deeside pub when almost four times the drink-drive limit has been banned from the road for five years.

Sara Pauline Radford, 36, blew a breathalyser reading of 138 microgrammes, compared to the legal limit of 35.

District Judge Andrew Shaw, sitting at Flintshire Magistrates Court at Mold today (Thursday), heard she had a previous conviction for drink-driving.

Radford admitted the offence and received a three-month prison sentence, suspended for 12 months.

The defendant, of Brookside in Garden City, had been binge drinking when on June 8 she crashed her Honda into railings outside Wetherspoon’s pub The Central Hotel in Shotton.

The person who had contacted police was trying to prevent her from driving off when officers arrived.

Paul Abrahams, defending, said Radford had suffered throughout her life with depression. She was devastated by what she had done, he added.
