Students from John Summers High School, Queensferry, take on Duke of Edinburgh’s Award trek

STUDENTS in Queensferry took on a trek in the Welsh mountains as part of their silver Duke of Edinburgh’s Award.

The group did their expedition on the Berwyn Mountain range near Llangollen after completing a practice run a few weeks earlier.

The school’s Duke of Edinburgh’s Award co-ordinator Gail Woodward said: “The group showed real skill and we are delighted with their achievement.

“We are also very proud of previous gold Duke of Edinburgh participants who have been invited to St James’s Palace to meet Prince Philip, HRH the Duke of Edinburgh.”
