Flintshire coffee mornings raise funds for Macmillan Cancer Support

SCHOOLS, businesses and communities across Flintshire took part in the World’s Biggest Coffee Morning last week.

The event, organised to raise money for Macmillan Cancer Support, was held on Friday.

Barclays Bank in Mold, Busy Bees Nursery in Ewloe and Gwernymynydd Village Centre were just a few of the locations for the fundraising events.

Alyn and Deeside AM Carl Sargeant and MP Mark Tami popped in to Drury Primary School to enjoy a cuppa.

Mr Sargeant said: “The school hall was packed out for the coffee morning and it was lovely to hear the school choir sing.

“The teachers, parents and pupils did a fantastic job to ensure that the event was a real success for the Macmillan cancer charity.”

Delyn AM Sandy Mewies joined other women to support the World’s Biggest Coffee Morning in aid of the cancer charity. The event was organised by Julie Anne Davies at her home in Holywell.

Mrs Mewies said: “ I was pleased to receive the invitation from Julie to go along to her event. It was great to enjoy a cuppa and a chat while raising some money for Macmillan Cancer Support.”
