Flintshire cyclists sought for London to Paris event

Charity cycle challenge

FLINTSHIRE cyclists are being urged to saddle up for a massive challenge.

Children Today is seeking volunteers for a 300-mile cycle challenge from London to Paris from July 11-15.

Ceri Ward, fundraiser for Children Today, said: “Imagine your sense of achievement as you cycle into Paris knowing the monies you have raised will make a real difference to a disabled child’s life.”

To take part in this challenge you must be aged 18 and raise a minimum sponsorship of £1,400 (plus a registration fee of £99).

Tourism brochure

A BROCHURE to help boost tourism in Holywell is now available online.

A digital version of the town’s 2012 guide has been added to the website and 40,000 copies have been printed which will be distributed in the area.

Businesses are asked to contact town centre manager Medwyn Roberts if they have any ideas for the brochure which would attract more people to the town.

Man denies flashing

A MAN has denied a charge of flashing at Flint Railway Station.

Michael Maloney, 49, appeared from custody at Flintshire Magistrates’ Court charged with exposing his genitals on a platform in front of a couple and their young children on Friday.

Maloney, of Saville Place, Dublin, pleaded not guilty and the case was adjourned.

Magistrates agreed to bail Maloney on condition he lives at a hostel in Bedford Street, Rhyl.
