Pedestrian dies after being hit by a lorry near Brougton

A PEDESTRIAN who was struck by a lorry on the A55 has died.

The incident happened near Broughton, Chester, between Junction 35A and the Posthouse Roundabout, on the Chester bound carriageway.

Cheshire Police and other emergency services were called to the scene at around 5pm on Wednesday.

The casualty, who is 40 and local to the Chester area, was taken to the Countess of Chester Hospital, but died as a result of his injuries.

His next of kin have been informed and a formal identification will take place later today.
