FLINTSHIRE County Council leader Aaron Shotton has been elected deputy leader and spokesman for finance and resources for the Welsh Local Government Association.
Cllr Shotton– leader of the county council since May and a Labour councillor for Connah’s Quay central ward– previously held the position of deputy spokesman for finance on the Welsh Local Government Association.
He said: “I welcome the opportunity to represent local government at a national level, whilst my first priority will always be to represent residents in Connah’s Quay central ward and the county of Flintshire, I aim to provide a North Wales voice for public services as we enter into a difficult financial period for public services across our country.”
He has been a member of Connah’s Quay Town Council since 1996 and was then the youngest Labour councillor in the UK.
